MISSION STATEMENT
Our goal is to encourage and inspire creative growth in a safe and supportive environment. Our courses will take students on a creative journey in focused areas such as screenwriting, cinematography, creative producing, and acting, where students will begin the journey of creating their own film.
We will introduce students to mainstream ideas as well as classic film history. We will watch and analyze the masters as well as investigate other forms of media. Students will gain perspective on storytelling using examples from our diverse world of cinema. The aim is to create an enthusiastic film group, where students can make quality projects and have an opportunity to tell their stories. What students will gain in these courses is how to tell stories visually, using cinematic language. Students will take away valuable lessons in the study of the Shot, Word, Image, and Camera, as they learn the practical aesthetics of the screen. They will learn to think in a more professional, creative, and individual way as they gain skills and hone their craft in writing, filmmaking and collaborating with each other. Above all they will have fun.
